Virgo + Arri (Aries)

Arri doesn’t read instructions. I read instructions for fun. I’ve fixed everything Arri has ever built, quietly, when nobody was looking. He thinks it fixed itself.

Verdict: I don’t mind. Someone has to.

Virgo + Taur (Taurus)

I organised Taur’s snack cupboard. Taur nearly cried with happiness. I nearly cried because he said thank you out loud, in front of people.

Verdict: a calm, tidy, crumb-free friendship.

Virgo + Gem & Eye (Gemini)

They talk very fast. I take notes. I’ve filled fourteen notebooks. Some of what they said was true.

Verdict: I’m their fact-checker. They’re my entertainment.

Virgo + Canny (Cancer)

Canny makes me tea when I’m worrying. I make Canny a checklist when Canny’s worrying. We are both always worrying.

Verdict: a lovely, gentle, slightly anxious team.

Virgo + Leo (Leo)

Leo asked me to join him on stage. I hid behind the curtain for an hour. Then I fixed the curtain.

Verdict: Leo out front, me backstage. Exactly how I like it.

Virgo + Virgo (Virgo)

Two Virgos in one room. Very, very quiet. Every pencil points the same way. Nobody has ever been so relaxed.

Verdict: bliss. Labelled bliss.

Virgo + Libby (Libra)

Libby makes things beautiful. I make things neat. Together, our bookshelf is so lovely that people stop and take photos. That makes me want to hide.

Verdict: gorgeous and tidy. Please don’t look at it.

Virgo + Score (Scorpio)

Score notices everything. I notice everything. We sat in a café and silently spotted the same spelling mistake on the menu at the same moment.

Verdict: the best detective team never assembled.

Virgo + Sagg (Sagittarius)

Sagg forgets the map, the tickets and occasionally the trip. I pack Sagg a bag with everything in it, with a list taped to the front.

Verdict: Sagg has adventures. I make them possible. I get the postcards.

Virgo + Cap (Capricorn)

Cap has goals. I have systems. Together we can plan anything, including our plans.

Verdict: the most organised friendship in the universe.

Virgo + Aqua (Aquarius)

Aqua’s inventions are brilliant. I write the instruction manuals, because Aqua’s manuals just say “you’ll work it out”.

Verdict: genius plus paperwork. Unstoppable.

Virgo + Pike (Pisces)

My opposite sign. Pike drifts, I plan. Pike forgets lunch, I’ve packed two. Pike reminds me to look up from the list, and the sky is very nice, actually.

Verdict: opposites who make each other better.

Virgo’s sign-off: If you know a Virgo, we’ll probably never ask for a thank you. Say it anyway. Then let us go and hide somewhere, very happily.
