The 10 Best Things About Being a Scorpio, by Score the Lobster

We asked Score the Lobster, the Scorpio Astrominal, to write a list of the ten best things about being a Scorpio (23 October – 21 November).

She agreed to share ten. She has more. She keeps those in a locked box, at the bottom of the sea, under a rock that looks like a different rock.

1. We’re loyal

If a Scorpio is on your side, they are on your side completely. For life. Possibly longer. We don’t do half-friends.

2. We’re mysterious

Nobody knows quite what a Scorpio is thinking. Sometimes that includes the Scorpio. We like it that way.

3. We’re brilliant detectives

Missing sock? Lost homework? Who ate the last biscuit? Give a Scorpio ten minutes. (It was Taur. It’s always Taur.)

4. We’re determined

Once a Scorpio decides to do something, it’s getting done. A lobster with a goal is a lobster that does not let go.

5. We can keep a secret

Tell a Scorpio a secret and it’s safe forever. We don’t gossip. We do know everything, though. Those are different.

6. We’re tough

Lobsters have armour. Scorpios have resilience. Knock us down and we’ll be back up before you’ve finished celebrating.

7. We reinvent ourselves

A lobster sheds its whole shell to grow a bigger one. A Scorpio does the same: new look, new hobby, new and improved Scorpio. Same claws.

8. We’re ruled by Pluto

Pluto is small, far away and very mysterious. Some people said it wasn’t a proper planet. Pluto didn’t argue. Pluto just kept being Pluto. Respect.

9. We feel things deeply

Under the shell, a Scorpio cares more than almost anyone. We just don’t announce it. Pay attention and you’ll notice.

10. We always know

What you’re planning. What you got us for our birthday. Where you hid it. Third drawer down. Under the tea towels.

Score says: “That’s ten. You’ll never know the eleventh. Don’t ask. Don’t look under the rock.”
